This is in order to ensure comparability of outcomes between external assessments taken across different assessment sessions. The UMS grade boundaries are fixed, but the conversion scale of raw marks to UMS changes with every assessment session so that learners are not advantaged or disadvantaged by sitting a paper in any particular window. The grade boundaries for each sitting of the external assessment are determined during our awarding process following an external assessment.\r\nFor more information about UMS and how it is used to determine overall qualification grades, please refer to the relevant qualification specification.","umbracoSearchHide":"0","url":"/delivery-and-learner-support/exams-administration-and-support/results-and-post-results/","__NodeId":"14990","__IndexType":"directory"}},{"DocId":51,"Id":16543,"Score":0.000153766334,"Fields":{"id":"16543","heading":"Functional Skills update – September 2022","content":"Introduction of new assessments into the paper bank (Functional Skills)\r\nWhat are we doing?\r\nTo ensure we meet our regulatory requirements we are required to introduce new assessment papers into our live bank on a regular basis.
